Dear Friends and Supporters of 29.11,
It is a great honor to be alive today. And not just alive, but filled with the abundant life that Jesus came to bring us. I’m learning that abundance doesn’t come by way of more things, nicer homes, bigger cars, more toys or healthier bodies. Abundant life comes to those who willingly die to their own lives, pick up the cross and embrace the life Jesus purposed for us.
The abundant life Jesus promised those who follow Him can be had. And it can be had when our health fails us. It can be had when our finances are in shambles. And it can be had when persecution is abundant.
In short, the abundant life Jesus promised His followers can be embraced and enjoyed when we learn how to crucify our own flesh, settle in our minds that to live is Christ and to die is gain, and when we purpose to walk in conformity to the revealed Word of God.
I’m grateful that God has indeed poured out His grace and mercy in my life, and His grace to me was not without affect.
As I reflect over the past year and imagine the year to come, I am quietly reminded that all that there is exists for God’s pleasure. All that I have, I have because of God’s riches. All that I am becoming is possible simply because of the mercy of God.
As I look out my office window I can see the darkness as it gives way to the morning light and I am reminded that though the earth may give way, though my heart may fail me, though my finances may crumble, though my future is uncertain, the Lord is my strength and my portion forever.
Amen. Amen. Amen.
This morning as I work to bring this book project to completion, I keep replaying over and over in my head my decision from several weeks ago. I decided we were not going to ask people to support 29.11 this month. I desperately want to be a part of the sovereign work of God watching Him do things that only He can do. And I want to have faith that He can indeed make provisions for His work.
Having said that and continuing to desire that, I’m now wrestling with how much of what I said was by faith and how much was couched in pride. I would like to think I made those decisions out of a deep desire and longing to honor God with the whole of my life. And although I am committed to not asking people to support 29.11, I do want to make the needs known and give you the opportunity to make an end of the year contribution if you’d like. Not asking, simply making the needs known.
The past two months have been our most difficult financially. Because the book project has consumed all of my time, and coupled with a family emergency that had me out of town this month, we have fallen behind significantly in our support.
We know a lot of people who live on support like we do. One guy in particular posted an invitation on facebook for people to give to his ministry. And he listed the stats of the number of people he spoke to, the number of decisions they had recorded, how many people were baptized, etc.
Over the past few years God has convicted me of sharing such facts. We cannot possibly stick a dollar amount to a life. And as soon as we begin quantifying our work and attaching dollar amounts to it, we’re seriously off course.
In short – 29.11 exists to make much of God’s name and renown. We invest our time and resources in preaching the gospel around the globe and making disciples of the nations. Sometimes we do that here in the States and sometimes we do that in other countries around the world. Sometimes I travel alone and other times I lead groups. Sometimes the fruit from our labor is obvious, other times it’s hardly recognizable. Sometimes I come home after these trips feeling like I just climbed Mt. Everest and other times I come home feeling like I just went 10 rounds with Evander Holyfield. Either way though, I am eternally grateful to God for His call on my life and how He supplies the needs to accomplish His work. Most days I just stand in awe of the whole thing.
If you or someone you know would like to partner with us financially as we do this, we would be honored. And your end of the year contribution could not possibly come at a more pivotal time.

Thanks in advance. I know many of you pray for us. And those who can, often make financial contributions to equip us to preach the gospel and make disciples. On behalf of my wife and kids, thank you. Thank you for entrusting us with some of what the Father has entrusted to you. Your faithful stewardship of those resources make it possible for our ministry to continue.
1 Peter 2.9-10 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
